The New Indian Express

The New Indian Express was my first experience as a photojournalist and one that taught me a completely different way of looking at photography. Working in a largely male-dominated newsroom, I learnt to find my voice, hold my ground and navigate a fast-moving environment where stories could change within minutes.

I got to photograph politicans, places and events as they unfolded, often with very little time to think twice. It taught me to observe closely, stay curious and understand that a photograph isn't just about making something look good and knowing what is worth documenting. A lot of the way I observe and tell stories today still comes from those days.
